Industrial Region

Industrial Regions:  Industrial regions emerge when a number of industries locate close to each other and share the benefits of their closeness. Major industrial regions tend to be located in the temperate areas, near sea ports and especially near coal fields. India is a developing industrial power . It has Huge factories and manufactures a Variety of goods . Industries are scattered all over the country . There are four areas with higher concentration of industries  These are:

  • Western Industrial Region : This Include the Mumbai - Pune and the Vadodara- Ahmadabad Belts .This is the most important industrial region in India .
  • The Eastern Industrial Region :- This include Kolkata and the Damodar Valley belt . This Region is next to Mumbai in industrial output. 
  • The Southern Industrial Region :- This region includes the industrial cities of Bengalooru, Hyderabad, Madurai, Coimbatore and Chennai
  • The Northern industrial Region :- This includes the industrial cities of Delhi, Kanpur , Allahabad, Varanasi and lucknow in the Ganga-Yamuna Valley Belt .
